There are two main categories under the Nova Scotia Nominee program

•    Arranged Employment in Nova Scotia– in which candidates should have an existing job offer from a Nova Scotian company. It should also be supported by the Labour Market Impact Assessment and should have a NOC skill level of 0, A, or B

•    Through Work Experience in Opportunity occupation– Candidates must have one full year of paid work exercise in any of the opportunity occupations listed by the office of immigration. This includes some designations like Computer Engineers, Human Resources Professionals, Database Analysts and Data Administrators and much more.

Eligibility Requirements

Similar to the Canadian express entry system, candidates must meet the eligibility criteria’s so that they would have any chances of election. This would include having educational documents like diplomas approved by an assessment body, A CLB score of 7 and have one year paid work experience in the work that you are trying to apply for.

Selection System

The Nova Scotia Immigration Nominee Program also uses a points-based system and candidates should achieve at least 67 points out of 100 to get any chance of getting selected.

Applying candidates can get extra points if their spouses accompany them.

Application processing times for NSNP is said to between 3 and six months; selected candidates must apply for PR within six months of them receiving the invitation to apply.
