On August 12th there was a new Canada express entry draw. In this draw candidates with a score of 466 and above were selected. A whopping 3600 candidates were sent invitations to apply for the Canada permanent resident visa. In the last Express Entry draw the minimum score was 459.
Skilled workers can apply for the Canadian PR visa through the express entry system. This is a point-based system where the candidates have to score as many points as possible. More the points better are the chances of the candidate to get selected in the Express Entry draw.
The points are based on a number of factors. This includes age, education, work experience, language proficiency tests results etc. The candidates who have a high CRS score will receive an invitation to apply for the PR for Canada.
Only those candidates can become a part of the Comprehensive Ranking System and express entry system that fulfils the required eligibility criteria. The candidates must fulfil the requirements of any one of the Federal High Skilled economic-class immigration categories. These are the Federal Skilled Worker Class, Federal Skilled Trades Class and Canadian Experience Class.
The IRCC had applied a tie break in the August 12 draw and of August 6, 2019, at 12:14:53 UTC. This means that all the candidates who have CRS score of 466 and above and had entered the pool before this time and date have been given an Invitation to apply for the Canadian permanent residence Visa.
With this draw where 3600 candidates have been given invitation based on the Comprehensive Ranking System the total number of invitations given in 2019 is 52600. In the draws that were held between January 30 and June 26, 2019 the number of ITA that is invitation to apply issued in each of the 10 draws was 3350. But in the last 3 draws that were held since July 10th the number of Invitation to apply has increased by 250 that is in each draw 3600 invitations have been issued.
The draws for the Canadian permanent residence are held in every two weeks. But if there is a longer period between 2 draws then there is more time for the Express Entry pool to have candidates with a higher score. In the case of the last few draws, there was a gap of 3 weeks and this is the reason for the higher minimum scores.
Those candidates who have missed out on being selected due to low scores need to try and get a provincial nomination.
