Manitoba Immigration Expression of Interest Draw #229 (September 27, 2024)

On September 27, 2024, the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) held its Expression of Interest (EOI) Draw #229, inviting a total of 348 candidates to apply for provincial nomination through various immigration streams. This draw aims to bring skilled workers and international graduates to Manitoba, boosting the province’s workforce.

International Education Stream

In this draw, 269 Letters of Advice to Apply (LAAs) were issued to candidates who met the eligibility requirements under the International Education Stream. This stream is tailored to individuals who have completed post-secondary education in Manitoba and wish to contribute to the local workforce.

Skilled Worker Overseas

The Skilled Worker Overseas stream saw 79 LAAs issued to candidates who were directly invited by the MPNP through a Strategic Recruitment Initiative. The minimum ranking score for this category was 582. These candidates possess skills that are in high demand in Manitoba’s job market, making them valuable additions to the province.

Express Entry

Out of the total 348 LAAs, 56 were sent to candidates who have a valid Express Entry profile number and a job seeker validation code. These candidates are part of Canada's federal Express Entry system, which is designed to streamline the immigration process for skilled workers.

Important Considerations

If a candidate's score is higher than the lowest-ranked candidate's score but they did not receive a Letter of Advice to Apply, several factors could be at play:
  • Failure to provide a valid test number for a third-party language test.
  • Expired or missing language test results in the EOI profile.
  • Omission of a valid Invitation to Apply (ITA) number under a Strategic Recruitment Initiative.
Candidates should ensure their profiles are up-to-date with valid and accurate information to avoid missing out on future draws.
Additionally, candidates who are employed in regulated occupations and fully licensed to work in Manitoba were prioritized in this draw. However, the MPNP may decline applications from individuals who are not actually employed in regulated occupations, or who fail to provide proof of licensing.
