Canada Express Entry: First Category-Based Draw of 2025
Canada's Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has drawn its
first category-based Canada Express Entry of 2025, issuing 6,500
candidates an invitation to apply for permanent residence. This draw targeted
French-language ability candidates in line with Canada's objective to encourage
bilingualism.
Canada Express Entry Requirements
To qualify for this draw, applicants must fulfill certain Canada Express
Entry requirements, such as attaining a minimum Comprehensive Ranking
System (CRS) score of 428 points. The applicants were also supposed to enter
their profiles before February 10, 2025, at 4:41 pm UTC. The CRS score is
computed depending on variables like age, education, experience, and language
ability.
Canada Express Entry Eligibility
This draw forms part of Canada's wider immigration plan to attract talented
individuals who can be integrated into the economy and culture of the country.
Candidates that fulfill the Canada Express Entry eligibility are entered into
the pool of Express Entry, and those with the most points receive Invitations
to Apply (ITAs) in scheduled draws.
Canada Express Entry Program: Your
Pathway to Canada
The Canada Express Entry Program is an accelerated program for skilled
workers to obtain permanent residency. It consists of three immigration
categories: the Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP), the Federal Skilled
Trades Program (FSTP), and the Canadian Experience Class (CEC). Category-based
draws, such as this one, offer more chances for candidates possessing certain
skills or language proficiency.
