The Express entry draw was held on January 22nd, 2020. In this Canada Express Entry draw the Government of Canada has invited 3,400 express entry candidates to apply for the permanent resident visa.
The CRS score of this draw was 471. The last draw was held on January 8th, 2020. As compared to the last draw there has been a reduction of 2 points in the latest draw. In this year the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has so far sent 6800 invitations to apply through the Express entry system. The admission targets of the Express Entry system are higher as compared to last year.
The express entry system manages three of Canada’s three federal high-skilled immigration programs — the Federal Skilled Worker Class, Federal Skilled Trades Class, and Canadian Experience Class.
The candidate has to create an express entry profile. The profile will be given points based on different aspects. This is called the Comprehensive Ranking System score. Based on this score the profile is given a ranking. Higher the ranking better will be the chances of selection in the express entry draw.
It is not mandatory for the candidate to have a job offer in order to apply in the CRS. But if he has a job offer then he is eligible to get additional points. The candidates are selected in the express entry draws. These draws are held at regular intervals. The candidates who are selected are sent an invitation to apply. The candidates who get the invitation to apply must then submit the application form for the PR of Canada along with all the supporting documents within the stipulated time.
The IRCC applied a tie-break time and date of May 9, 2019, at 01:16:02 UTC in this draw. This means that all those candidates who had a score of 471 and who had submitted their profiles before this date and time have been selected.
In case a candidate is not eligible for the express entry system or does not have enough points to get selected in the draw need not lose hopes. He can always check different provincial nominee programmes of Canada. These PNP’s have been designed keeping in mind the labour requirement of the province.
If an express entry candidate gets a provincial nomination then he will get an additional 600 points. This means that his selection in the express entry system is almost ascertained.
