Alberta which is Canada’s west-most province and consists of Calgary, Edmonton, and Banff National Park has issued 251 notifications of interest (NOI) to Express Entry candidates. The CRS scores of these candidates start from 400. These NOI’s were sent on July 17th 2019.
One week later 220 NOI’s were sent to 220 candidates. The important point to be noted here is that the Comprehensive Ranking System scores of these candidates were as low as 303.
These invitations were a part of the Alberta Express Entry Stream selection. Due to these draws the Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program can look out for candidates in the Express entry system. The candidates must fulfil the eligibility criteria. Eligible candidates are sent invitations to apply for the provincial nomination. This will help these candidates get the permanent residency of Canada.
The first Alberta Express Entry Stream selection draw took place one year ago. It must be noted that until now 26 draws have been held and more than 5000 invitations have been issued.
The first thing that the candidate needs to do in order to be considered for these type of express entry provincial nominee programmes is to create an Express Entry profile. The best thing about Alberta express entry programme is that the candidate does not require any previous work experience. The candidate also need not have any job offer to apply for this programme.
Alberta does not have a list of occupations that are in high demand. But it is important that the candidate must be involved in an occupation which will help in the economic development of Alberta. It is also important that the candidate has an express entry score of at least 300 points.
The ANP may give priority to the following candidates:
- Candidates with job offers and/or work experience in Alberta
- Candidates who have a degree from Canadian post-secondary institute and valid job offer
- Candidate whose parent or child or sibling is already living in Alberta.
Following things can reduce the candidate’s chances of receiving an invitation from Alberta:
- The expiry of the express entry is within 3 months of the draw
- Occupations that are part of the Alberta Opportunity Stream Ineligible Occupations list
Candidates whose CRS points are very low do have a chance of getting an invitation from Alberta. The highest score so far in the ANIP draw was the minimum score of 425 in the July 10th 2019 draw. On the other hand, the recent cut-off score of Federal Express Entry draw was 459.
In this year the lowest cut off score in the entire federal Express Entry draw was 438. In 2019 Alberta has selected candidates with scores as low as 300 on 4 occasions. On 3 occasions the minimum score was 303. On one occasion the cut-off score was 302.
The express entry candidates who manage to get a provincial nomination get additional 600 points. These candidates can be rest assured that they will get an invitation to apply for permanent residency of Canada from the Government of Canada.
Few details about the Federal Express entry system:
The three immigration programmes Federal Skilled Worker Class, Federal Skilled Trades Class, and Canadian Experience Class depend on the Express entry system. Eligible candidates are taken into the express entry pool. The candidates are given points based on factors like age, education, work experience, and proficiency in English or French. In order to get the perfect idea about the express entry system, it is always better to connect with a reputed company that provides the best Immigration Consultancy Services. These consultants will make sure that they provide all the assistance that the candidate requires in order to apply for the programme.
In the draw, several candidates with high scores are selected. The Government of Canada will send them an invitation to apply for the permanent residency of Canada. The draws are usually held every 2 weeks.
For provincial nomination, through the Alberta Express Entry Programme, the candidate has to first submit the express entry profile. This province participated very late in the Express entry programme. But now it has a very high labour market demand. In order to fulfil this demand, they have already held 26 draws in this year. Alberta is a prosperous province. This is truly a golden opportunity for skilled candidates who have a low CRS score. These candidates can look forward to getting an opportunity to settle down in Alberta.
